ACTEON® Introduces OPUS® – Redefining Prophylaxis and Periodontal Care

Mérignac, France – March 25th 2025

ACTEON® is proud to announce the global launch of OPUS®, its groundbreaking solution for prophylaxis and periodontal care, set to debut at IDS 2025 in Cologne.

OPUS® is a state-of-the-art solution that seamlessly integrates best-in-class ultrasonic scaling with a reimagined air polishing solution to cover any clinical indication, enabling painless supra- and subgingival treatments while simplifying the daily work of practitioners.

Proudly made in France, all our equipment is manufactured and quality-controlled at our Mérignac site to ensure the highest standards of reliability. For this launch, ACTEON® collaborated with an ergonomist and leading Key Opinion Leader to provide the best solution for dental professionals.

OPUS® is the only solution in periodontal care that effectively treats periodontal disease while preserving gingival tissue without compromise. Designed to empower dental professionals, OPUS® offers an intuitive, user-friendly platform that prioritizes practitioner safety and peace of mind. Its fast handling and ease of training have already demonstrated a proven return on investment through reduced waste and enhanced efficiency.

Our OPUS solution is our masterpiece of design and engineering. Developed for all dental professionals, ultra-intuitive, extremely precise, compact and versatile, it is so comfortable that patients barely even notice they’re being treated” quotes Kristel ROLLAND, Chief Marketing Officer in Acteon®.

At the heart of OPUS® lies its dual-mode functionality. In Ultrasonic Mode, high-frequency vibrations efficiently remove calculus and plaque from the teeth — ideal for scaling and root planning procedures — while remaining gentle on both teeth and gums. In Air polishing Mode, a precise combination of air, water, and fine powder cleans and polishes the tooth surface, effectively eliminating stains and biofilm. This mode is suitable for both supragingival and subgingival treatments. The ability to switch seamlessly between these two modes allows clinicians to perform comprehensive dental treatments with precision and ease.

Beyond its exceptional technical performance — which includes perfect irrigation, optimal cavitation for minimally invasive treatments, and perfectly controlled vibrations regardless of tip load — OPUS® offers adjustable and precise power equalization during powder consumption. Its comprehensive range of tips and nozzles, including 3 reusable periodontal nozzle, makes it an incredibly versatile tool for a wide array of clinical applications.

Embracing the slogan “YOUR PROPHYLAXIS REVOLUTION STARTS HERE”, ACTEON® reaffirms its commitment to excellence by equipping dental professionals with cutting-edge tools, paving the way for a new era in dental care and ensuring the highest standards in patient treatment.

The OPUS® is what I’ve been waiting for… It’s a great working workflow,” says Dr. Henrik-Christian Hollay (Dentist and implantologist from Munich, Germany), reflecting the confidence experts have in this transformative solution.

With OPUS® we are dedicated to empowering healthcare professionals with complete, intuitive, and economically efficient solutions that elevate patient care.

Join us at IDS (Hall 10.1 – Stand E030 – F049) to push boundaries and redefine excellence.
